A Grand Island woman faces felony hit-and-run charges in connection with last Friday's accident that sent a man working along Interstate 80 to the hospital.
Fifty-nine-year-old Alice Gloyne was arrested Saturday and cited for leaving the scene of an injury accident and careless driving.
The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department says 42-year-old Elias Rodriguez, an employee of Trafcon Barricades of Lincoln, was struck by an eastbound car as he put up a traffic barrier near the Waverly exit just after 8 a.m. The driver also hit a barricade and kept going. Rodriguez was treated at the hospital and released.
Sheriff Terry Wagner says Gloyne only admitted to hitting a sign. She works for the Veterans Administration and was heading to Omaha for a training session at the time of the accident.
