A grass fire shut down a 10-mile stretch of Interstate 80 between Walnut and Adair, Iowa for a time on Saturday.
Traffic was detoured between exit 57, 11 miles east of Walnut, and exit 70, about four miles west of Adair, which is about 55 miles west of Des Moines.
Authorities were cleaning up a crash near the grass fire. Iowa Department of Public Safety spokesman Sgt. Scott Bright said there were no serious injuries in the crash and that officials did not believe the crash and fire were related.
Bright said officials shut down the highway for fear that smoke from the fire could cut visibility and cause collisions.
