An Omaha park that hasn't been improved in 25-years is on the list for a makeover.
The city of Omaha Parks and Recreation Department is soliciting input on improvements to Miami Park near 42nd and Miami. A public meeting will be held Thursday, June 21st.
The city operates and maintains more than 200 parks in the community.
The department often asks for input from the public. Acting director Brook Bench said the city is looking to improve the playground. A spray park, he said, is not under consideration.
Miami Park has problems. There are no backboards on the basketball poles. The swings are in no shape to be used. We noticed broken boards and equipment on the playground.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. at Girls Inc, 2811 North 45th Street. Improvements are being planned to the playground and the overall park.
