A grand jury returned an indictment against an inmate at the Nebraska State Penitentiary who is accused of murder. It’s alleged that 22-year old Mohamed S. Abdulkadir killed 22-year old Michael Grandon on June 30 of this year.

At the time of his death, investigators said another inmate stabbed Grandon but it was not known if his death was intentional or accidental. Authorities have not revealed any other details of the incident.

In 2008, Grandon was sentenced to life in prison for the deaths of his girlfriend’s mother and 5-year old sister in their North Platte home. Grandon’s ex-girlfriend Alicia Ochoa was acquitted of the crimes.

Abdulkadir was serving a 25-year sentence for second degree murder, robbery, and marijuana distribution. Those crimes stemmed from a case in Hall County.
