Prosecutors will use a suspect's own words against him with the 25-year-old man goes to court to be tried on charges of violating a protection order and tampering with a witness.
The police report indicates his phone calls from the Douglas County Jail were recorded and reviewed before the additional charge was added.
The 26-year-old alleged victim tells authorities she received a number of calls from the inmate asking not to show up for the court case believing the charge of violating a protection order would be dropped.
Investigators listened to the more than 20 alleged phone calls from Ken Scaife and added the tampering charge.
The report does not indicate when Scaife will be in court.
