Injury Crash On Country Road
Sunday afternoon injury accident southwest of the metro. At approximately 3pm sheriff’s deputies along Weeping Water and Manley Fire and Rescue personnel were dispatched to 100 West F Street in Weeping Water to a one vehicle accident.
According to Cass County Sheriff. Wm. C. Brueggemann, Ronald G Payne, 58, of Lincoln was driving a 1997 Ford Explorer south on 144th Street into Weeping Water. The vehicle failed to turn at the T intersection of F and 144th streets, continued south and struck a tree. Janae Blahak, age 29, of Lincoln was also in the vehicle. Both individuals were transported to UNMC in stable condition.
The Cassgram reports Alcohol is believed to be a factor, said Brueggemann, and Payne was cited on suspicion of 4th offense DUI and no proof of insurance.
