Omaha police didn't have far to go to investigate a case of suspected domestic assault. The victim was found in the Southeast Precinct parking lot Saturday night.

Twenty-five-year-old Christina Cruz was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center in serious condition, suffering from a cut wound to the arm. She told officers she had an argument with her boyfriend at 20th and Deerpark Boulevard and he cut her with a kitchen knife.

“She was involved in a domestic violence disturbance earlier tonight with her boyfriend," said Omaha Police Sgt. Erik Forehead. "She knew to come here. We have units out looking for the suspect who was involved in this.”

Officers found the boyfriend, 35-year-old Samuel Malave, and arrested him for felony assault.
