Infant Pain Reliever Recall

Channel Six news Fact Finders discovers a recall of infant pain reliever sold over the counter. An Omaha mother Megan Hollibaugh found out when attempting to buy a bottle Sunday. The shelf was empty but her husband found one container in the baby medicine section of Target. The clerk refused to sell it too her.

That lead to this statement from Target.

It has come to Target’s attention that improper dosage instructions were listed on some packages of Up & Up infant acetaminophen. The product is safe, but the dosage instructions for infants under 2 are incorrect under FDA guidelines. The correct dosage should read “Children under 2 years: Consult a doctor.” More information can be found on the Safety Awareness page on Target.com

All affected products are being removed from Target shelves and Target systems will not allow the product to be sold at checkout. All guests who previously purchased the product can return it for a refund. Additionally, guests who purchased the item with their Target RedCard have received a recorded telephone message notification.

Accountability is the foundation of how Target does business, and we expect best-in-class performance from our vendors. Any additional questions can be directed to vendors.
