The Kroc Center in south Omaha is almost ready to unveil its latest activity. The turf was laid on Wednesday for the first indoor soccer tournament at the Kroc Center.
The Kroc Center will debut the new indoor soccer field during Friday's tournament. The indoor game is faster than the outdoor version and it's played on a field the size of a hockey rink.
The rubber pellets were being applied Wednesday afternoon while our Channel 6 camera was there. The Kroc Center Staff feels the indoor turf will get a real workout from the families that use the center.
The tournament is scheduled to start at 7PM on Friday. Twenty-five to 30 teams are expected to compete in the first tournament.
