A driver who lost control of his pickup on an ice-covered stretch of Interstate 80 was killed Friday morning when the truck hit a vehicle stuck in the median.
It happened around 5:20 a.m. about six miles west of the Underwood exit. Investigators say 56-year-old Duane Allen Oliver of Glenwood was traveling eastbound when his pickup entered the median and crashed into a Jeep that got stuck on Thursday and could not be towed out due to weather conditions.
The Iowa State Patrol says Oliver was not wearing a seat belt.
