I-80 Crash Killed Fugitive

Authorities say a man who'd been chased by North Platte police has died after a crash on Interstate 80 in western Nebraska.

The Nebraska State Patrol says the accident occurred about 3:20 a.m. Wednesday near Brady.

State trooper J.J. Connelly says 28-year-old Floriberto Parra-Munoz, of North Platte, was killed after the car he was driving entered the median and rolled, ejecting him. Connelly says he suspects Parra Munoz had been drinking alcohol.

North Platte police officer Rodney Brown says Parra-Munoz was pursued earlier Wednesday morning by another North Platte officer. Brown says Parra-Munoz had driven away from a convenience store without paying for $50 worth of gas.
