Husker fans have their first chance to see the 2014 Nebraska football team during annual Fan Day festivities at Memorial Stadium Friday.
It takes place from 2-3:30 p.m. Autograph cards and other items will be available for fans at the gates. Enter through gates 3 and 24 and you'll want to pick out the players/coaches you want to see beforehand to get in line, one for each field position. You can get one item signed per player or coach.
The most popular players will have the longest lines, so you're encouraged to spread the love. “The quarterbacks and running backs are always a favorite,” says Nebraska Associate Athletic Director for Community Relations Chris Anderson. “I always tell my son to go get in a different line of people that you don't know and just get to know the new players.”
There are some restrictions on what can be signed. For example, you can get a shirt signed, but not if you’re wearing it.
A new addition fans get to see is an "N" atop Memorial Stadium that will be lit and can be seen for miles. It sits on top of a brand new sound system that hadn't been updated in 20 years.
Nebraska will open its 125th season against Florida Atlantic at Memorial Stadium on Saturday, August 30th.
