Members of the public are invited to take part in an overnight ghost hunt at the historical Pottawattamie County Squirrel Cage in Council Bluffs on October 19th.
The Squirrel Cage is a revolving jail built in 1885. While the jail has been uninhabited since 1969, according to local and regional ghost hunters, many of its caretakers have gotten the feeling that the jails past residents have hung around. The host of the hunt, Paranormal Distraction, offers participants to decide on their own if claims of noises, lights, moving objects and even apparitions are real and truly proof that spirits reside at the jail.
The cost to participate in this ghost hunt is $60 in advance at the Squirrel Cage Jail, or tickets are also sold online (see link below). A portion of the proceeds go to the Pottawattamie County Historical Society and the preservation of the Squirrel Cage.
