Omaha firefighters spent the afternoon battling quite the fire in a home near 35th and Jackson Streets.

The fire broke out around 1:30 p.m. Monday. The Battalion Chief told Channel 6 News the fire was tough to fight because it started on the back porch and then worked its way into the walls of the home.

The fire was considered "working" for well over an hour. Officials said it was basically a two-alarm fire.

Neighbors reported hearing a couple of minor explosions, that they assume were fuse boxes burning up. Fire investigators are working with the homeowner to determine whether there were paint cans or anything else that may have exploded.

No one was hurt.
