Husker and Bluejay fans have found their way to San Antonio in anticipation of the red and the blue in the madness.
It's Creighton's third straight year in the NCAA Tournament and with each appearance comes more fans.
We found one CU fan who might have logged the most miles to get to the tournament.
“I came in from Hawaii,” he said. “I got here at 9:20 this morning.”
And he has more than watching basketball on his mind. His wife, who’s a big Doug McDermott fan, couldn’t make the trip, “but she wanted me to get a signature from him that says, 'to Amelia. I love you. Doug McDermott.' I don't know if I'm going to get that.”
The team's never made it to the Sweet 16. We asked another fan how special it would be to see that change.
“I think it would be everything. I think it would be pretty fabulous. Not only for Creighton but for Omaha and Nebraska as well too.”
Over on the red side of the fan base, the Huskers held an open practice Thursday morning. Plenty of fans have made the trip.
One woman told us, “We've been fans. We’ve had tickets for 20 years. We've seen them when they're down, so when they're up we want to be here to support them. And just have fun with them."
Another fan told us, “It's a great accomplishment for them and their coaching staff. And we had the weekend off so we thought, why not? Here we are."
The Huskers go for their first-ever NCAA Tournament win on Friday. Game time is 11:40 a.m. against Baylor.
