Police Sunday disclosed the identity of the man found shot to death at 30th and Fort streets Saturday morning.
Twenty-four-year-old Joshua Dillon of Omaha was slumped behind the wheel of a car that had crashed into a telephone pole blocking southbound 30th Street, the result of a possible running gun battle through the streets.
Officers patrolling in the area heard gunshots just before 2:30 a.m. Minutes later someone called 911 to report a shooting.
"The crime scene has been made intentionally large just due to the geography of the area in the event we have evidence outlying further away from where we think it is," said Omaha Police Lt. John Sokolik. "It gives us an opportunity to search that area a little more carefully and hopefully find evidence there."
