With more women now owning guns, the organization Well Armed Woman has established a chapter in Omaha and will be hosting a holster fashion show on Sunday promoting concealed carry options.
The group offers women at all experience levels the opportunity to learn safe gun handling skills, train together and discuss issues involving gun ownership.
Membership is open to women 21 years of age and older legally eligible to own a firearm. There are currently 181 Well Armed Woman chapters in 42 states with over 4,600 members.
The holster fashion show will be held at the Cabela's store in La Vista at 4 p.m.
A 2011 Gallup Poll reported 47 percent of U.S. adults have a gun in their home and 23 percent of women own a firearm.
