10 a.m.-5 p.m.
There's still time to make your list, and check it twice, before the Physicians Mutual and WOWT Holiday Market December 7 and 8 at Aksarben Village.
Based on classic Christmas markets popular in Germany, the event takes place under a 14,000+ square foot, heated tent located on Mercy Road at 67th St. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., more than 45 vendors offer one-of-a-kind gifts and delicious holiday treats guaranteed to delight shoppers and the lucky recipients.
All of the vendors in the Market are required to provide only locally made or handcrafted goods. Whether a gift is needed for a grandchild, co-worker or even the “Scrooge” on your list, the vendors at the Holiday Market will have something for everyone. Delectable, locally-produced treats include artisan breads, jellies, jams, salsa, cheeses, tamales, wine, root beer, coffee, roasted almonds and a variety of sweet desserts. Many of the food vendors will be familiar to those who shop at the Old Market Omaha Farmers Market or the Aksarben Village Omaha Farmers Market.
“I love being in the Holiday Market,” said Pat Buffum, of Patricia’s Shortbreads. “Shopping under the tent and the variety of vendors is a completely different experience from going to a mall.”
What would a holiday shopping experience be without an appearance by Santa? Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Skippy the Elf will stroll the Holiday Market listening to the holiday wishes of young and old on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. To keep the mood merry and bright School of Rock carolers will perform both Saturday and Sunday.
