Life at an 1820s military post will be depicted at Fort Atkinson State Historical Park during this weekend's Living History event.
The event begins Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m. and runs until 5 p.m.
Volunteers will demonstrate blacksmithing, carpentry, coopering and other trades, and crafts such as quilting, spinning and weaving.
Fort Atkinson was the first military post west of the Missouri River. It sits seven blocks east of U.S. Highway 75 near Fort Calhoun in eastern Nebraska.
A park entry permit is required and may be bought at the park.
