History came alive at Gretna Middle School Monday night.
Students put together a living wax museum for their annual People of the Past event. We spotted Cleopatra, Betsy Ross and Julius Caesar among the notables in attendance.
Social studies teacher Jim Oliver said the program really does help kids learn.
"They actually get to pick who they want to be,” he said. “They can come up with their speech, how they want it to be. Their costume is all them. They have a true ownership in the whole program."
Steve Jobs was also in the house. Sometimes history isn't all that old.
