Stolen checks are being passed around. WOWT 6 News Crime Stoppers is helping to identify suspects.
The checks were stolen in a burglary at on-base housing in Bellevue. One of the suspects is a woman who bought merchandise at several metro area stores.
A Sarpy County Sheriff's Office detective says two other suspects, a man and woman, used checks from the same account. "Eighteen different checks have been used out of this one girl's bank account; a bunch of them for groceries, clothes, for gas," said Detective Matt Core.
The victim had been in the hospital, so she didn't know about the theft right away to close the account.
If you can identify the suspects call Sarpy County Crime Stoppers at 402-592-STOP.
