Omaha police came to the aid of a Nebraska State Patrol trooper Saturday morning after the man he was arresting apparently decided he didn't want to be handcuffed.
The trooper said the man was driving erratically and would not stop until he pulled into a relative’s driveway near North 29th Street and Ames Avenue just before 3 a.m. That is where the alleged altercation took place. The trooper requested backup, which was translated into a “help an officer” call.
When police arrived, the suspect was already in cuffs and the situation had calmed down.
The man, whose name has not yet been released, was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence. Additional charges are possible.
