The Heartland Latino Leadership Council hosted the Latino Fiesta of Comedy and Culture Thursday night at Guaca Maya restaurant in Omaha. The group celebrated its 15th year of giving back to youth in the community, and raised funds for the Heartland Latino Leadership Conference Scholarship.
The scholarship will be awarded to either a senior in high school, or a college student, to help pay for school. To raise money, the group brought in Emmy-Award winning comedian Mike Robles and a Latino dancing group. WOWT 6 News Anchor/Reporter Joe Chiodo Emceed the event.
The scholarship continues to collect donations. You can donate during "Omaha Gives!" on May 21st. It requires a $10 minimum donation, and all funds are matched.

Additionally, the Heartland Latino Leadership's Professional conference will be held November 18th at the Embassy Suites in La Vista.
