A Heartland family is finding themselves in a tough place. Their house is falling apart and insurance won't cover it.
Steve Greise is beyond feeling overwhelmed. He only has one thing on his mind now: rebuilding his basement.
During last Friday night's storms, his house suffered significant damage; a wall is now missing in their basement because of a sinkhole.
Greise thinks he knows why this happened. "The previous, previous, previous owners that had fixed this foundation probably didn't put in the dirt right," said Greise. "(The dirt) soaked up water, soaked up water and then became just a big mud puddle sitting underneath the grass."
Greise and his family will have to pay for the repairs. He says his insurance company told him that they don't cover earth movements or sinkholes.
