Heartland experts want people to be on high alert. This year's Ebola outbreak is causing concern because of its magnitude and severity.
UNMC infectious disease experts are monitoring the situation. The CDC wants people to know, Ebola is extremely difficult to get. It's transmitted only by direct contact with bodily fluids like vomit, feces, and blood.
Ebola has killed more than 700 people in West Africa. What makes it even more concerning is that there is no cure, there are no vaccines nor specific treatments.
The CDC believes the chances of Ebola coming to the US are extremely low, but if it does, the government wants people to know that it's prepared.
