A Zanesville, Ohio man accused of driving drunk in a deadly Omaha crash last month has a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.
Thirty-year-old Evan Shiplett faces one charge of motor vehicle homicide for the death of his passenger, 19-year-old Matthew Doty of Council Bluffs.
Police say Shiplett lost control of a pickup on the westbound I-480 off-ramp to North 30th Street around 6 p.m. on September 6th. The truck went off the highway and rolled over, ejecting Doty. Another passenger, 18-year-old Jacob Levene of Neola, Iowa, was not hurt. No one was wearing a seat belt.
