The crash involved a car and a gravel hauling truck with a pup trailer
Portal Road turns into Cornhusker at 96th street and is on the border of Papillion and LaVista.
Channel 6 reporter Mike McKnight was at the scene within minutes. Investigators tel him both vehicles had the green light but the loaded gravel truck appeared to have turned into a Nissan. LaVista Lt. Kevin Pokorny said witnesses saw the driver of the truck talking on the cell phone just before the crash.
Pokorny said the driver of the Nissan 22 year old Michelle Johnson is fortunate to have only suffered minor injuries. She had been pinned in her car for 20 minutes.
The driver of the gravel truck 46 year old Pamela Cole was not injured.
The investigation continues. No word on a citation.
