An early monring fire Monday destroyed a hay barn. Firefighters from Avoca, Otoe, Weeping Water and Manley all responded to the 3:45am call.
The barn south of House Street on 134th Street was fully engulfed in flames as Avoca Fire first responded, Avoca Deputy Fire Chief Todd Glantz told the Cassgram. Tanker trucks from the other departments were needed for water supply and the destroyed structure was still smoldering after 7am Monday.
Glantz said the cause is not known. There was no electricity to the structure.
