University of Iowa defensive back Nico Law is facing a criminal charge and consequences at school for fighting outside an Iowa City restaurant Saturday morning.
Law, who will be a senior this fall, was cited for disorderly conduct after the incident at 1:45 a.m. Police say the 21-year-old assaulted a man after that man argued with a woman who was with Law.
Hawkeyes' head coach Kirk Ferentz said Law will face discipline under the university's student-athlete code of conduct once the facts are gathered.
Law, of Clinton, Maryland, played in all 13 games last fall and recorded four tackles and one assist.
