Storms moving through Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa Tuesday evening produced a tornado that moved through Harrison County Iowa.
It appears the tornado developed just east of Missouri Valley around 5 PM Tuesday evening and tracked northeast for about 12 miles. Early reports show it then lifting about 5 miles south of Woodbine. Radar estimates showed the storm that produced the tornado was moving at roughly 50 mph at the time.
Damage has been reported about 5 miles south of Logan, IA and along highway 44 just southeast of Woodbine, IA. After this early assessment, damage of up to EF1 intensity has been found. That involves winds ranging from 86-110 mph
Damage assessment teams from the National Weather Service will be out today to survey further. An official report on the damage and track should be released later today.
