Police have identified the teenager shot in the back Friday morning as 19-year-old William Belgrave of Omaha.
He told police he was shot by a man he didn't recognize in the Motel 6 parking lot off of 84th Street at I-80 around 4:15 a.m. Belgrave sought help from employees at the nearby Denny's restaurant, who called 911.
Employees told Channel 6 News they saw Belgrave run around the corner and came inside saying, "I've been shot." He was taken to Creighton University Medical Center with an injury to his lower back and is expected to survive.
