A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for southeastern Fremont, Montgomery and Page counties in Iowa until 6 p.m. Sunday.
The trial for Bellevue’s former Chief of Police was postponed Monday in Sarpy County after a judge accepted a motion for continuance.
John Stacy is accused of unlawfully giving a gun to former Gretna City Administrator Colleen Lawry. Stacey's attorney, James Martin Davis said it would be unfair to go to trial amidst the Connecticut shooting tragedy.
"I think that given what happened, because of this firestorm going on, it would be impossible for my client to get a fair trial in that kind of atmosphere,” Davis said.
Stacey's trial is rescheduled for February 20th in Sarpy County court.
