Gun theft leads to prison.
The Cassgram reports 22-year-old Anthony L. Nelson of Lincoln was sentenced to 20 months to 4 years in the Nebraska Department of Corrections. He pled guilty to a Class IV Felony in the theft of several handguns, two rings and a box of watches from a rural Murdock residence this past January. The victims said the value of all the items totaled over $13,000. The plea was part of an agreement in which the prosecution amended two Class III Felony charges to the Class IV.
Nelson is also awaiting sentencing on another felony charge of theft by receiving in Lancaster County. That case is related to the Murdock thefts.
