Guilty verdict for sexual assault on a child.
Scott Tingelhoff, Saunders County Attorney, reports Richard Strenger was found guilty of Attempted 1st Degree Sexual Assault on a Child, a class II Felony, which has a maximum sentence of up to 50 years imprisonment, 3rd Degree Sexual Assault of a Child, a class IIIA Felony, which has a maximum sentence of up to 5 years imprisonment, and Possession of a Controlled Substance, a class IV Felony, which has a maximum sentence of up to 5 years imprisonment. He is scheduled to appear in the Saunders County Court for a Sentencing on January 27, 2014 at 9:00 a.m.
An officer with the Cedar Bluffs Police Department received a report of a sexual assault on a child. After a lengthy investigation, the officer determined the juvenile was sexually assaulted at the Strenger home on a number of different occasions.
Additionally, deputies with the Saunders County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on Strenger’s house while investigating the sexual assault complaint. During the search of the residence, deputies located drug paraphernalia containing Methamphetamine. Strenger was placed under arrest after the discovery of the methamphetamine.
