After calling Omaha home for decades, Greyhound is leaving the city effective August 15th.
This change will leave only one bus company operating out of the downtown bus station. Iowa-based Burlington Trailways is taking over operations at the 16th and Jackson location.
When the change is made, Omaha will remain a cross country bus route city. The president of Burlington Trailways promises rates will stay the same, too.
Still, the change is hard for some to take since Greyhound has served Omaha for eight decades. "We keep losing things that have been here for a long time," Amy Leonard said. "I hate to see something so historical be gone again."
Beyond the name change, many say they're relieved to hear that no other major change is expected.
