For those looking to expand their knowledge of a favorite beverage, Saturday's Great Nebraska Beer Fest has the answer.
The festival, now in its fifth year, features 400 craft beers from 80 brewers in 20 states. Longtime Omaha favorite Storz is also being served. In addition to tasting the different drinks, different education courses have been offered, which organizers say is really what it's all about.
“The craft beer community has grown so much in the last five years, we use this as a tool to take to the masses and say craft beer is really amazing and we want to share that,” said Nebraska Brewing Company owner Kim Kavulak.
The festival, at Shadow Lake Towne Center, Highway 370 and South 72nd Street in Papillion, runs until 6 p.m. Portions of the proceeds go to the Nebraska Craft Brewers Guild and the Histiocytosis Association.
