Seven area fire and rescue departments fought a grass fire that broke out near Waverly, Nebraska late Sunday afternoon.
Flames reportedly stretched from 98th to 112th streets and Raymond Road to Branched Oak Road. Smoke could be seen from miles away. No injuries were reported.
Despite blustery winds, the blaze was under control by Sunday night. No word on what might have sparked the fire.
