No injuries were reported Friday afternoon in a grass fire northwest of Omaha near 150th Street and Nebraska Avenue.
Bennington firefighters kept the flames from reaching nearby homes and the nearby Saddlebrook Elementary School.
“I came outside, kinda checked around my house to see if there was anything else, there was a whole bunch of ash in my driveway and lawn right now,” said area resident Derek Warneke. “So, it's spreading a good area around. Yeah, a bunch of ash is everywhere."
No word on what might have started the fire.
