Affordable housing money awarded to agency serving Cass County .
The Cassgram reports The Nebraska Department of Economic Development directed Nebraska Affordable Housing Trust Funds (NAHTF) monies to Southeast Nebraska Community Action Council, Inc.
The project will use $400,000 from NAHTF to directly assist 15 first-time homebuyers purchasing existing or newly-constructed single-family homes in Cass, Johnson, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee, Richardson, and Sarpy counties. Additionally, buyers purchasing existing homes may qualify for $15,000 per unit rehab assistance to ensure they meet certain standards. An additional $710,500 in first mortgages and buyers’ personal financing, SENCA’s Weatherization program, and loans and/or grants from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development will complete the project.
