Four separate buildings, one 14 stories tall, will be built on the site of Omaha's Civic Auditorium if plans made public Friday become reality.
Mayor Jean Stothert announced the develop partnership with TETRAD Development. The project is being headed by former Husker football player Zach Wiegert.
The complex of four buildings will include office space, restaurant and retail space as well as a "civic component" like a library.
The project carries a price tag of $300-million. If approved, demolition of the Civic Auditorium would happen in 2015 with the new complex expected to be finished by 2018 or 2019.
