The Nebraska State Fair has announced Grand Marshals for the daily parade on the fairgrounds from August 24th through September 3rd, 2012.
According to Nebraska State Fair Board President, Jana Kruger, “One of the greatest assets we have in Nebraska is our people. They are so willing to volunteer and give of their time and talents for their fair and their community. It’s our privilege to honor but a few each year at the Nebraska State Fair.”
Governor Dave Heineman will be the parade grand marshal as part of the State Fair’s opening ceremonies on Friday August. 24.

Lives, works and owns a business in Thedford and is actively Involved in the Thomas County Fair and Fairgrounds.

Connie and Charles Decker
Rick and Sharon Brandt
Children of longtime Nebraska State Fair Manager Henry Brandt (1964-1987), His family lived on the fairgrounds for many of those years.
Monday, August 27
Brian and Janel Laub
Grand Island, Nebraska
Family farmers and actively involved in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Grand Island and are very involved in the Hall County Fair.
Tuesday, August 28
Dan and Evie Barrett
York, Nebraska State Fair
Dan and Evie have worked side-by-side for the York County Fair for 33 years where Dan has been a board member.
Wednesday, August 29
Jerry and Joe Bendfeldt
In 2011, Jerry received his 40-years Service Award from the Nebraska Association of Fair Managers.
Thursday, August 30
Scott and Candy Salisbury
Both have been involved in the Logan County Fair—Scott as Vice President to the board and Candy for being actively involved in every aspect of the fair.
Friday, August 31
Eitemiller was raised in Sioux County and contracted polio at Age 15. Never the one to let it slow her down, she and her husband of 48 years, Dale, now watch their grandchildren exhibit at the fair.

Kruger says. “Parade Grand Marshals have been a part of the Nebraska State Fair for as long as I can remember. Each daily parade begins at 6:00pm on the fairgrounds.”
