Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman will host an economic development conference this week with his counterparts from Iowa and Michigan.
The National Governors Association event in Omaha on Tuesday and
Wednesday will focus on strategies states are successfully using to encourage economic development.
Heineman, who is chairman of the National Governors Association, has focused on growing state economies while leading the group.
Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad and Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder will attend the conference along with state officials and business leaders from Nebraska and surrounding states.
University of Nebraska President J.B. Milliken will also talk about the role state universities can play in encouraging economic development.
