Gov. Terry Branstad's father is in a Mason City hospital after undergoing brain surgery.
The governor was in Mason City on Tuesday to be with his father, 88-year-old Edward Branstad, of Forest City.
His executive assistant, Margaret Hough, says the elder Branstad had a tumor removed Tuesday at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa and was doing well.
