The continuing border crisis involving child immigrants is on the mind of Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman.
He has signed-on to a letter demanding that the federal government inform states of the names, sponsors, and legal status of the children who are brought in to the various states for processing.
The Governor said, “You know, I agree with the President of the United States. Eventually, these individuals need to be returned to their country of origin. In order to do that, we need to know who they are. I'd like to see the president act decisively, work with congress this is a crisis that requires action today."
The letter was written to the Department of Health and Human Services.
The governor says if state and local governments don't receive the information then members of congress are prepared to require it by law.
