Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman has awarded a $505,000 state grant to Sarpy County for a company that makes pet care products.
The governor's office announced Monday that the grant will
result in 58 new full-time positions at Sergeant's Pet Care
The grant will provide $500,000 to help buy machinery and
equipment used to make the pet products, including flea and tick
treatments, pet shampoos and pet toothpaste. The remaining $5,000
will be available for administrative costs.
The $7 million project includes bank financing and a company
Sergeant's Pet Care Products has manufactured pet products since
1868. The Nebraska Department of Economic Development administers
the grant program with federal money made available by the U.S.
Department of Housing and Urban Development.
