A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for central Johnson, northwestern Nemaha, southern Otoe and northeastern Pawnee counties in Nebraska until 3:15 p.m. Sunday. A tornado watch is in effect for parts of southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa until 10 p.m. Sunday.
Google is expected to announce new details of its continued investment in Iowa and Council Bluffs Friday afternoon.
Iowa Governor Terry Branstad along with Council Bluffs Mayor Tom Hanafan and Google's Data Center Manager will address the media in Des Moines at 3:30 p.m.
Google has already invested over $900-million and created 130 jobs with the Data Center in Council Bluffs.
Google also touts its outreach by pointing out $608,000 in awards to local schools and nonprofits. In 2011, it partnered with the city of Council Bluffs in providing a free Wi-Fi network downtown and in two other areas.
