Woodmen of the World will be hosting its 24th annual donation drive to benefit Goodwill Industries on October 2 - 4, 2013.
During the three-day event, Woodmen associates, Woodmen Tower tenants and individuals employed in the downtown area are encouraged to donate usable clothing and small household items for Goodwill Industries on their way to work from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. each day.
Goodwill will be collecting donations at four sites at the Woodmen Tower at 1700 Farnam Street:
* Garage Level B
* Garage Level C
* Tower Park West Skywalk
* Farnam Street Tower Entrance
Woodmen of the World has been a constant supporter of Goodwill by hosting a donation drive for over the past two decades. Each drive has averaged 10,000 pounds of materials collected each year.
The donations are distributed among Goodwill's 15 area retail stores. The revenue generated from the sale of these donated items is used to help support Goodwill's job training and employment placement programs for people with disabilities and other disadvantages.
Donations drives help support Goodwill training programs like Customer Connect. Customer Connect provides customers service training in the banking and insurance fields and is taking applications for the next class that begins December, 2013.
