A controversial book hits a nerve with parents. Despite its racy title, it's an instant bestseller.

It's called, "Go The "F" To Sleep."

In the Jensen household, bedtime is a routine. If you ask 2-year-old Macy, she makes it sound easy.

Macy says, "I sleep in my bed."

But Macy's mom, Mandy Jensen tells a different story.

Mandy says, "We just painted her room last week, and her new thing is she's afraid to sleep in her room."

It's just one of the common complaints parents with toddlers face.

Mandy says, "It seems like we go through stalling mechanisms. I need to go potty, I need a drink..."

These excuses play out in a controversial book, "Go The "F" To Sleep."
The book is meant for parents' eyes only. It's goal-to make parents laugh during their sleepless nights.

It became a bestseller, before it was even released.

Actor Samuel L. Jackson even offers a narration of it.

Jackson says, "I'm not getting you *&^&! Cut The Crap. Close Your Eyes. Sleep!"

Mandy has mixed opinions about it.

She says, "I think the book kind of has an angry approach to it, and I don't think that's right."

But she admits, there's nights you reach the end of your rope, and this could make you laugh.

Mandy says, "I understand the sentiment of "Oh my God! Can't you go to sleep."

Dr. Amanda Votruba says sleep is one of the most common questions parents have.

Dr. Votruba says, "I do see parents come in frustrated, and some parents may relate to a book like that."

But Dr. Votruba says instead, she recommends "The Sleep Fairy." It's a book you can read with your kids.

Dr. Votruba says, "It talks more about the same issues, just in a more child friendly and family friendly way."

The Jensen's use reading to get their girls to sleep, but there's never a guarantee.

Mandy says, "You just can't prepare yourself for the sleepless nights."

"Go The "F" To Sleep" is such a cult classic, there are plans to make it into a movie.
