Scores of runners turned out early Monday morning for a special run along the Keystone Trail.
The “Go Girl Run” run is designed to increase the overall health of families.
Moms and their children were encouraged to sign up for the 5K or one of the shorter runs as a way to promote good health and habits.
Organizer Megan Berry Barlow says, “Moms tend to be the driving force behind families in a lot of ways so if you have healthy moms who like to exercise and be active the idea is that the entire family would benefit from that.”
The event also supports the Hope Center for Kids.
The Omaha Running Club also has a program “Step into Running” a 16-week program to encourage women to run.
