Seventh and eighth grade girls from Girls Inc. are spending some time this summer on the UNO campus to learn about science, math and engineering.
It’s in cooperation with the UNO College of Education.
Tuesday’s lesson involved weather balloons. Once a balloon climbs into the sky, the girls will collect data from the instruments that are attached.
Katie Kelly, with Girls Inc., said, "We hope they get a lot of experience within the science and technology field. The girls also experience time on campus doing personal development and learn physical activity and learn how to swim."
This is the third year for the program.
